Industry Association with umati
About umati
Umati is an industry initiative that enables simple, secure, and interoperable machine connectivity by leveraging OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) standards. It aims to simplify machine to IT and machine to machine communication, reduce integration effort, and lower project costs through standardized, plug and play connectivity. umati builds a global ecosystem based on OPC UA Companion Specifications, common communication requirements, and quality assurance through testing, certification, and guidelines. Targeted primarily at machine users and customers, and secondarily at machinery manufacturers and solution providers, umati promotes open interfaces, horizontal and vertical integration, and future ready manufacturing. Through joint working groups with the OPC Foundation and multiple machinery sectors, umati ensures harmonized semantics, global applicability, and a trusted framework that enables easy and reliable access to machine data across industrial environments.
