We help industrial automation OEMs modernize aging products and platforms, extending their life, reducing obsolescence risk and making them ready for today’s security and connectivity needs.
Our teams migrate legacy firmware from end-of-life microcontrollers and outdated RTOSes to current Arm-based platforms and modern RTOS or embedded Linux, while protecting proven control logic.
Modernizing Legacy Industrial Softwares
We modernize legacy PLC and DCS applications, for example from older platforms such as Siemens S5 or Rockwell PLC-5 to current controller families, using code conversion tools, reusable libraries and simulation-based testing to reduce downtime risk.
We re-engineer legacy HMI, SCADA and desktop engineering tools built on VB6, MFC or older WinForms into modern .NET, Qt or web-based applications. Many legacy industrial applications still run on unsupported operating systems: Windows 7 support ended in January 2020, and Windows 10 in October 2025. We migrate these products to supported platforms to close security gaps.
Before any refactoring, we reverse-engineer and document undocumented code, then build automated test harnesses to make sure the modernized product behaves exactly like the original. We use AI-assisted code analysis, documentation and conversion to speed up modernization, with engineers reviewing and validating every change. We also retrofit legacy products with modern connectivity (OPC UA, MQTT) and security features aligned with IEC 62443, and provide component obsolescence management to keep products manufacturable for years to come.
